Evaluation

A Comprehensive evaluation is performed by a licensed Therapist. Based on initial evaluation an outline for appropriate course of treatment is presented. If necessary, referrals to other disciplines such as  Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Social Work will be made. Recommendations will also be made for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) if Patient is in need of adaptive equipment i.e. Walker, Cane, Grab Bars, etc. In addition, Therapist will provide opportunity for patient and family to discuss any possible treatments needed in order to provide relief and comfort for specific pain or limitations. The P.T. Central team will guide the patient in the right direction.

All services are approved by the patient’s physician. P.T. Central’s rehab team works closely with the home health agency to achieve patient and family desired outcomes. P.T. Central staff will provide detailed documentation on patient’s progress and if necessary need for further therapy treatments

Physical Therapy- is the branch of Medicine that deals with the evaluation and treatment of neurological & musculoskeletal disorders.

Treatments

Physical Therapy intervention consisting of but not limited to:

• Balance and Coordination Training

• Improving strength and endurance

• Neurological Training and Retraining

• Mobility and Ambulation Training

Physical Agents:

• Electrical Stimulation

• Ultrasound

• Cold/Heat therapy

Candidates for PT Services include and not limited to:

• Gait Deficits

• Orthopedic

• CVA (Acute/sub acute)

• Cardiac

Occupational Therapy-is the branch of medicine that deals with the activities of daily living. OT is the use of productive or creative activity in the treatment or rehabilitation of physically or emotionally disabled individuals.

Candidates for OT services include:

• Difficulties in dressing of upper or lower body

• Difficulties in Bathing or Toileting

• Difficulties with grooming that include washing of hands and hair. Problems with Shaving and Dental Care.
